§1 Indicative Sentence

The verb in a declarative sentence always comes in the second position. The subject in a declarative sentence may be on the right or on the left from the verb. The sentence ends by a full stop (“.”) Sentences “Tanja weint.” and “Er arbeitet.” are simple and very short statements. They consist only of a subject and a verb. Usually, declarative sentences are further modified by other constituents of the sentence.

Heute  kaufe   ich  euch kein Eis.
 Peter und Andrea   gehen  am Samstag ins Kino.
