Reflexive Verbs
Present tense
The reflexive pronoun se is placed in front of a conjugating verb and corresponds to an adequate person so it is changed:

je me lave | I wash myself |
tu te laves | you wash yourself |
il/elle/on se lave | he/she/it washes himself/herself/itself |
nous nous lavons | we wash ourselves |
vous vous lavez | you wash yourselves |
ils/elles se lavent | they wash themselves |
Reflexive verbs in negative:
ne pas se reposer |
je ne me repose pas |
tu ne te reposes pas |
il/elle/on ne se repose pas |
nous ne nous reposons pas |
vous ne vous reposez pas |
ils/elles ne se reposent pas |
Note:
If a verb is in infinitive, both negative particles are placed in front of the verbs
If a verb begins in a vowel or silent “h”, the reflexive pronouns me, te, se are shortened by apostrophe:
s’appeler |
je m’appelle |
tu t’appelles |
il/elle/on s’appelle |
nous nous appelons |
vous vous appelez |
ils/elles s’appellent |
Note:
The verb appeler is subject to similar spelling and phonetic changes as in the already known verb acheter.
